Proper Diplomacy during the Spring Campaign to West Kahl'hatra was all but impossible due to tree of the land forcing them to protect it. Due to this, magical influence, diplomacy was only possible after the connection to the tree was broken. As was explained at the Crusade of the Element's War Council, the South is still sending its fleet and soldiers to support the cause.
